Testimonals

I attended Marna’s “hand embroidered lampshade” workshop at So Sew Pretty in Dumfries. I was a complete beginner, with very little hand sewing experience. Marna was very patient with our group who had varying levels of skills and experience and was always in hand to help. The course was delivered in a relaxed and friendly way and it was a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing day! I am very much looking forward to attending another course with Marna, later this year.

Brilliant weekend course in Devon. Loads of tea and cake, lovely lunches and nice company. That want the best bit though, the best bits were the help and advice from Marna who took a bunch of ladies from never having produced an embroidered lampshade to producing stunning finished articles that everyone was proud of. Marna is an excellent teacher and really inspiring bring out skills I never thought I had.
I have successfully used the skills that were taught on this workshop and produced embroidered appliqué cushions and clothing. Best weekend ever.

Thank you Marna

I was so excited to attend the lampshade making workshop, I had long admired Marna’s work and felt a bit ‘star struck’ when meeting her. (To which she replied ‘that’s just weird!’)

It was throughly enjoyable and informative workshop . Marna was a great teacher, super helpful and nothing was too much trouble. All in all a fab day, can’t wait to do it again sometime!

What a brilliant day spent with you and the other Marna Lunt enthusiasts! You were our guide on a fab journey from basic stitching, working through a design, choosing beautiful fabrics and the bonus of our own embroidered lampshade to take home . Realised after just how much I had learned : So enjoyed it and you inspired me to want to do more !
With thanks and all good wishes to you and your family

I will happily recommend anyone to share in one of Marna’s courses from beginner to expert.Marna has a true gift for inspiring even the least confident without being patronising.
She shared her artistic talents with such generosity and modesty that the results were such that we all took home lampshades we were proud to have produced.
