Seasonal Landscapes
20th February 2016
Based in the North East of England, Marna Lunt is a renowned textile artist whose work is influenced by the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors where she grew up. Using colours and textures that you would normally find dancing in the heather her painstaking hand stitched pictorial artworks that are full of life and personality, which is a description that perfectly matches Marna!
Inspired by Marna’s drawn landscapes and cities she will help you translate your own personal image into a unique artwork. You will learn how to draw your own design and transfer it to a fabric design as well as a variety of embroidery stitches and how to appliqué with different threads and materials. Using fine Liberty lawns and a riot of colourful prints the results will be indicative of Marna’s signature style but with a personal resonance. An inclusive experiance day with lunch and all materials included.
Floral’s
21st February
Due to the first date selling out (if you’re interested please do pop your name on the waiting list because there are often cancellations) on the Saturday we have added a new date on the Sunday. This time looking at flowers and all things floral. It’s going to be rather special as we will have a floral display from a wonderful florist in the studio that we will be looking at for inspiration. As usual all the materials will be included and a fabulous lunch also provided for all. I will be coming back to Hope and Elvis in the summer too, these dates will be added shortly when they have gone live on the Hope & Elvis website.
